Auditions for Sloss Fright Furnace 2017 will be held on Wednesday, Aug 30 at 6 PM at Sloss Furnaces by the water tower.
This is an open call for actors, therefore no appointment is necessary. Actors are invited to audition in costume and make-up if they would like their characters to be considered for inclusion in the production. New actors may use stock costumes and props provided by the event to audition.
Sloss Fright Furnace’s gateway hours of operation are from approximately sundown to 11:00 p.m. on weeknights and sundown to midnight on weekends. Actors will be retained as paid independent contractors for the run of the event which runs from Sept 30 through Oct 31.
Actors must report to the site at 4:00 p.m. in order to obtain work assignments and get in makeup and costume in preparation for the opening of the trail. All make-up applications and costume and/or mask designs must be approved by the artistic department of the event.
Actors are required to sign in and out each night. Sign-in begins once the event opens and sign-out is immediately after the last group has exited the site. Failure to sign in will result in forfeiture of the performance fee for that day. All actors must remain in place until the last group has entered the site and the word is given to close down for the evening–usually around midnight on the weekdays and 1:30 a.m. on the weekends. Total payment for all performance fees earned will be mailed during the first full week of November to the address given on the W-9 form filled out during auditions.
